High School Credit High school level students may register for individual CALCampus courses and transfer them into their local high school or homeschooling program. Our High School Division is fully accredited by the National Association of Private Schools. Course Numbering and Credit Amount CALCampus high school courses are numbered in the 200s on our Course List. Our high school courses are designed to cover the content of a full year, unless otherwise stated in the course description. There is no uniform credit system among high schools, so we do not specify credit amounts on our transcripts. The transcript states the course in terms of length: ex. 'full year content' or 'half year content'. It is then up to the particular high school to award their credit amount. In our High School Diploma program, we award 1 credit for a full year content course. Course Transfer If you choose to seek transfer credit for one of our high school courses, you need to first arrange with your own high school counselor to accept a particular CALCampus course for credit in your high school program. Print the course description to show your counselor. We can also provide you with a syllabus to show your counselor, if needed. Ask the Director if you have questions about this. Advanced Courses High school students may request enrollment in our postsecondary college level (300's) courses (will require instructor permission and pre-screening for eligibility)--see Course List. Independent Self-Study Electives High school diploma students may select independent self-study courses to fulfill their electives. These are individual, self-instructional courses, which fulfill specific learning areas not already offered by CALCampus courses. Students' progress is monitored and managed by CALCampus instructors. |
